Last nightI went to see the Ten Tenors at the Majestic Theater in Dallas. What a treat! Ten Australian men with fantastic voices! I must admit, I was a little dubious after their first two pieces, as these were a bit stiff and very traditional. My opinion changed very promptly with a fantastic rendition of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and then a equally impressive medley of the Beach Boys. People around us became teary-eyed at Simon and Garfunckle. Opera “without the boring bits” was an great experience. I must listen to live music more. It is a complete sensory experience. You see the performers, you feel the reverberations of the music, and your nervous system responds. It is great!
Last night was their last night in Dallas and you missed a treat if you like exceptional singing. Catch them next year. Wonderful!
